Información general

El código de educación bilingüe del estado de Nueva Jersey (Bilingual Code or N.J.A.C. 6A:15), provee un esquema sobre las normas y regulaciones de los distintos programas de educación bilingüe. El código es basado en la ley "N.J.S.A. 18A.35-15 al 26". El Codigo también otorga autoridad al departamento de educación del estado de Nueva Jersey para que apruebe programas alternativos de educación (N.J.A.C. 6A:15-1.5 and Three-Year Plan N.J.A.C. 6A:15-1.6).

El código bilingüe fue creado para que los derechos de los niños bilingües sean respetados; que periodicamente se evalúe la efectividad de los programas bilingües; y para que se brinde una educación apropiada. El comité de padres bilingües (BPAC) es una de las formas en las que el código bilingüe protege dichos derechos. Por lo tanto, por ley, todos los distritos que ofrecen servicios bilingües deben tener un BPAC.

La Superintendente de las escuelas públicas de la ciudad de Bridgeton, siempre ha dicho que las escuelas existen para los estudiantes, y concecuentemente, nuestros padres deben tener la oportunidad de opinar sobre los programas ofrecidos a sus hijos. Por medio del BPAC, nuestra superintendente les da a los padres una via comunicación para que puedan expresar sus opinones sobre la educación brindada a sus hijos. Además, el supervisor del departamento bilingüe esta en comunicación constante con el BPAC; colaborando con el comité en la organización de eventos y reuniones.

El propósito principal del BPAC es darle a nuestros padres bilingües la oportunidad de opinar sobre los programas ofrecidos a sus hijos. Por lo tanto, durante el año, el comité se reunira para evaluar y dar su opinión sobre los programas e iniciativas del departamento bilingüe. Además, en las varias reuniones, el BPAC discutira otros temas relevantes a la educación y la comunidad.

Este año el comité estará compuesto unicamente de padres de estudiantes bilingües. Sin embargo el próximo año, maestros y miembros de la comunidad formaran parte del comité. Además, es importante mencionar que todos los padres con niños en cualquiera de los diferentes programas Bilingües y de ESL están invitados a participar en las reuniones y convertirse en miembros del comité.

Misión del comité

La misión del comité de padres bilingües (BPAC) es colaborar con la junta educativa de educación de la ciudad de Bridgeton para asegurarnos de que nuestros estudiantes bilingües tengan las herramientas necesarias que necesitan para tener éxito en la escuela. El BPAC servirá como enlace entre el distrito escolar, padres y la comunidad, brindando sugerencias a la junta escolar con el propósito de que los estudiantes bilingües tengan acceso a un sistema educativo de alta calidad y equitativo.

Metas del comité

  1. Revisar y proporcionar sugerencias sobre los diferentes programas de educación bilingüe
  2. Revisar los planes bilingües y concesiones monetarias, y proporcionar sugerencias para su mejoramiento y uso
  3. Servir como enlace entre el distrito escolar, padres y la comunidad
  4. Animar a los padres de familia a que se involucren en la educación de sus hijos
  5. Informar a los padres sobre las ventajas de la educación bilingüe
  6. Asistir en la organización de talleres para los padres

Fechas de las reuniones del comité

Este año el comité se reunira en las siguientes fechas:

  • El 19 de diciembre del 2016 (Lunes) en las oficinas administrativas de la junta educative (Administration Building - Bridgeton Board of Education), 41 Bank Street, Conference Room B, de 5:00 a 6:00 PM
  • El 23 de marzo del 2017 (jueves) en la escuela Broad Street School, de 1:00 a 2:00 PM
  • El 14 de junio del 2017 (miercoles) en la escuela Indian Avenue School, de 5:00 to 6:00 PM

District Anti-Bullying Initiative

Bridgeton Public School District takes bullying and harassment very seriously.
