Student 1-to-1 Technology

The Bridgeton Public Schools has been diligently creating online learning and virtual classroom instruction for students in grades 3 through 8, and we are ready to begin distributing laptops beginning the week of April 27th. If you already have a working computer with internet access at home, then you do NOT have to pick up a laptop. All of your classwork will be accessible through the internet and detailed instructions on how to get set up will be available on our website and when you pick up your computer. It is extremely important that everyone adhere to the specific pick up dates and times listed below for the safety, organization, and well-being of everyone involved. Also, packets will be collected for all students in grades Preschool through 8th. It is vital that you bring your packets with you in order to receive credit for the work you have completed thus far. Please plan to pick up laptops and drop off completed packets between the hours of 9 am and 12 pm.

  • Monday, April 27th: All students in grades 3-5 with the last name beginning A-F
  • Tuesday, April 28th: All students in grades 3-5 with the last name beginning G-M
  • Wednesday, April 29th: All students in grades 3-5 with the last name beginning N-Q
  • Thursday, April 30th: All students in grades 3-5 with the last name beginning R-Z
  • Friday, May 1st: All students in grades Preschool through 2nd grade pick up packets. Preschool and Kindergarten please bring back packets one through 6.
  • Any 6th- 8th grader who does not have their laptop with them may pick them up according to the previously mentioned schedule.

The District Technology Office has prepared a Dell Laptop with Windows 10 Professional for each student that needs one. Also, each student has been provided an Microsoft 365 (formally Office 365) account. Microsoft 365 provides each student with an email account with a 50GB mailbox, a OneDrive (Cloud Storage) account with 1 TB (TeraByte = 1000 Gigabytes) of storage, and a suite of other tools such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Powerpoint, and more that students may use to complete assignments. The District has also acquired a teleconference platform system called Webex. Webex will enable our students and their families to communicate with their teachers, counselors, and administrators to communicate securely over the internet or the phone.

As we move through these unprecedented times, rest assured that the Bridgeton Public Schools Family is and will remain united and steadfast in support of our students. As new resources are made available to the District, we will make sure that all students have access to those tools.

Please use the resources to the left to learn more about the different elements of our 1-to-1 initiative.
