POSITION:

COORDINATOR OF GRANTS AND FUNDED PROGRAMS

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Master’s Degree
  2. Valid NJ Supervisor, Principal or School Business Administrator certificate or eligibility, preferred.
  3. Knowledge of federal and state law
  4. Experience in writing and obtaining special grants
  5. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with staff
  6. Strong leadership and communication skills

REPORTS TO:

Reports to the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction

JOB GOALS:

To provide leadership, organization and oversight for the development and operation of state/federal programs, and other externally funded programs. To seek out and obtain grants to fund special programs.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Enforce all federal and state laws and district policies, processes and procedures as applicable to federal grants.
  2. Assist in the interview and selection process of professional and support staff when requested to do so.
  3. Coordinate state, federal, and externally funded programs and activities with appropriate administrators and staff members.
  4. Write proposals and complete applications for federal and state department approval.
  5. Meet with appropriate federal and state officials to discuss items relating to programs, determine the funding status of the programs and serve as liaison between the school district and those officials.
  6. Coordinate, create, and complete all state/federal grant program applications as required.
  7. Coordinate, evaluate and be responsible for the district-wide extended day/year programs.
  8. Coordinate and provide direction to all staff members applying for special funding from federal, state, foundation or other sources and monitor the process and program.
  9. Coordinate with district staff new programs designed to help our students that qualify for external, state, and federal funding.
  10. Inform staff, parents and students of all pertinent rules, regulations and procedures.
  11. Foster cooperative relationships between various state and federal staff members.
  12. Monitor grant expenditures to ensure that programs, purchases, and activities occur in accordance with the approved grant application in a timely manner.
  13. Complete all federal and state reporting and monitoring reporting and monitoring requirements as necessary for each program within all appropriate timelines.
  14. Perform all other related duties as required by the position or assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction.

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:

12 months. Salary to be determined by the Board of Education.

EVALUATION:

Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Board policy and procedures on the evaluation of professional staff.
