POSITION:

DISTRICT TECHNOLOGY AND AUDIO VISUAL ENGINEER

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree Required
  2. Public school experience preferred.
  3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  4. Experience in computer and educational technology services.
  5. Knowledge and experience with various audio/visual systems.
  6. Knowledge and experience with various physical security systems.
  7. Knowledge and experience with various computer applications.
  8. Knowledge of network systems.
  9. Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship.

REPORTS TO:

Director of Technology

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Support and maintain in-house audio-visual equipment and non-print media assets. Operating, maintaining, distributing, installing, configuring, repairing and upgrading various electronic products while ensuring their optimal performance.
  2. Troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user training and assistance where required.
  3. Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future AV equipment and educational technology needs.
  4. Collaborate with supervisors to establish and enforce proper AV practices and procedures.
  5. Support and maintain all districts camera surveillance systems, including bus cameras.
  6. Assist and makes recommendations on purchasing of cameras, surveillance systems and audio equipment.
  7. Maintains cabling related to audio visual, surveillance and biometric systems.
  8. Supports and maintains Unified Communication Systems and distance learning.
  9. Supports and maintain biometric access denial systems
  10. Maintains computer systems related to audio visual, surveillance and biometric systems.
  11. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of AV equipment and supervise installations.
  12. Install, configure, and maintain systems for the district.
  13. Set up and take down equipment for concerts, graduations, speeches, plays, or other events.
  14. Job duties may include connecting wires and cables and setting up and packing away sound boards, mixers, speakers, projectors, video screens and spotlights.
  15. Perform installation of items such as smart boards, large projectors, video feeds, or computer networks.
  16. Responsible for management of technical services, including events, audio-visual equipment, and relevant facility operations.
  17. Work with departments that may use audio-visual to assist with their educational presentations.
  18. Create, deliver, edit, and optimize educational media.
  19. Ensure that messages are supportive of and consistent with the Bridgeton Board of Education.
  20. Deliver media content and outreach to the community including local broadcasting station, video streaming, and social media.
  21. Provide technology support to all departments
  22. Work with technology and business units to determine budget and manage expenses to that budget.
  23. Promote school events and services through media.
  24. Manage video content.
  25. Performs all other duties as assigned by the District Information Systems Technology Manager/Superintendent of Schools.

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:

12 Months. Salary and contract to be determined by the Board of Education

EVALUATION:

Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Board policies and procedures on the evaluation of professional staff.
