POSITION:
District Translator
REPORTS TO:
Assistant Superintendent of Special Education and Student Services
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Fluency in English and Spanish languages
- Professional experience in written English/Spanish Translations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide accurate and timely translations from English to Spanish of written materials assigned by Assistant Superintendent of Special Education and Student Services.
- Enter translations with correct spelling and appropriate accents into pertinent computer programs.
- Serve as interpreter as needed by the district.
- Attend conferences/workshops specific to bilingual issues.
- Translate, type, and distribute letters and other official correspondence to bilingual/ESL staff.
- Maintain files of bilingual/ESL students.
- Type and distribute office correspondence to bilingual students and programs.
- Prepare monthly reports concerning bilingual students and programs.
- Type and file regular correspondence in and out of the office.
- Assist in typing state and federal reports, travel vouchers, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Special Education and Student Services.
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:
12 Months. Salary to be determined by the Board of Education.
EVALUATION:
Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Board policies and procedures on the evaluation of professional staff.
