POSITION:
Supervisor of Guidance 9-12
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Director of School Counseling Services Certificate
- Five (5) years teaching experience
- Minimum three (3) years experience as a Guidance Counselor
- Leadership, organization and instructional management skills
REPORTS TO:
Director of Student Services and High School Principal
JOB GOAL:
Utilizing leadership, advocacy, and collaboration, the supervisor of guidance
9-12 shall promote student success, provide preventive services, and
respond to identified student needs by implementing a comprehensive school guidance program that addresses academic, career and social/emotional development for all students.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement group programs for students and parents in areas such as course selections, educational planning, financial aid, career development and self-understanding.
- Maintain contact with representatives of different educational institutions (colleges, technical schools, industries, etc.)
- Arrange and schedule opportunities for educational and career representatives to meet with interested pupils.
- Develop class rankings.
- Prepare school profiles for colleges and employers.
- Develop the master schedule for all students.
- Prepare the financial budget of items pertinent to the operation of the BHS guidance department.
- Assist in and oversee the preparation of transcripts, letters of recommendation, etc.
- Be responsible for overall administration of BHS testing procedures.
- Maintain guidance related student records and interpretation of the same to appropriate sources.
- Supervise and evaluate all counselors 9-12.
- Track and provide credit completion and/or credit recovery programs to any students that are in need throughout all semesters as necessary.
- Submit to the Director of Student Services and BHS Principal a monthly and yearly report on school counseling and guidance related activities that lead to improved student learning and performance outcomes.
- Perform all other related duties assigned by the Director of Student Services and BHS Principal.
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:
12 Months. Salary to be determined by the Board of Education.
EVALUATION:
Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Board policies and procedures
on the evaluation of professional staff.
