Bridgeton High School Parent Update &
Upcoming Safety Information Meeting on Thursday, March 9, 2023
Dear Parents and Bridgeton Community:
Since the heightened safety measures put in place at Bridgeton High School the week of February 2nd, we have
not seen a continuation of related incidents at Bridgeton High School. Now that a month has passed, we
understand that many parents may have questions such as:
- What are the safety measures and how long will they be in place?
We will continue the following:
- Heightened police presence at the start and end of the school day
- Bridgeton Police Officers walking through Bridgeton High School regularly throughout the day, alongside our in-district officers and security
- Increased Bridgeton Police Department presence in/and around the building
- Additional officers and security during after school activities
- Parking lot enforcement – allowing staff and registered students only on BHS lots
- What is planned for the future?
- We are currently developing partnerships with community organizations to provide additional gang reduction supports at the high school.
- We are adding additional in-district officers whenever possible this year and budgetting for additional officers next year.
Parents are invited out on Thursday, March 9th for an evening parent meeting in the Bridgeton High School Auditorium from 5-6 pm with the Principal, Superintendent, District Director of Safety, and Bridgeton Police to discuss our safety measures, and to answer any questions parents may have.
