Special Education/Student Support

Welcome to Special Services Section on the Bridgeton Public Schools Website. We have included information on the special services section regarding Child Find and Special Education Parent Advisory Group (SEPAG) Meeting schedules for your convenience.

Bridgeton Public Schools currently provides special education services to all its classified students in and out of district. The in-district programs are listed on the Web Page under the school that houses the program.

The belief that each child matters is at the heart of all of our efforts at the Bridgeton Office of Special Education. We are committed to creating all-inclusive schools with programs and services that promote the success of all students. We nurture collaboration between students, families and school staff that provide support for students with disabilities and their parents in the implementation of individualized education programs in the students' least restrictive environment.

All the schools in our District are supported by our comprehensive academic and behavioral support system. Students with disabilities are educated with their non-disabled peers and receive the same programs and services available to our general education population.

The Office of Special Education also ensures that parents are an integral part of our comprehensive support system. Our goal is to have parents representing each school as designated by the school's principal. The Special Education Parent Advisory Group (SEPAG) meets every other month and in turn assists in planning and disseminating information on programs and services to the community.

I believe these changes will provide a more stable educational environment and continued support for our students PreK-12.
