Mission Statement

The "Parent University" program in the BPS will provide a digital platform where we will assist and collaborate with parents to help them support their child’s learning.
Goals

  1. Posting, hosting and advertising webinars, virtual and in-person information sessions.
  2. Providing helpful workshops which includes; family nutrition to preparing kids for kindergarten, financial aid, financial management, parenting tips, and how-to videos concerning virtual learning, and using technology at home.
  3. To empower parents to gain confidence, and become more engaged in their children's academic programs and the larger community.

Why Parent University?

Research from the National Coalition for Parent Involvement in Education shares that "no matter their income or background, students with involved parents are more likely to have higher grades and test scores, attend school regularly, have better social skills, show improved behavior and adapt well to school."

The BPS MODEL

The BPS is committed to providing parents with the supports (virtually or in-person) they need to assist in depositing positive investments into the success of their children. BPS Parent University supports parents and families in the education of all children by providing an introduction to district programs, events, community resources, and parent-engagement strategies.
