Attendance Officer
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Required Criminal History Check.
- A valid state-issued driver's license, and transportation to travel on and off-site.
- Provide Proof of US citizenship or legal Resident Alien status
REPORTS TO:
Building Principal
JOB GOALS:
To track attendance and follow up
on excessive absenteeism.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive referrals from designated sources for attendance, lateness, residency or other matters.
- Maintain accurate records regarding referred cases.
- Complete home visits, telephone contacts, and attendance conference with Principal.
- Provides address verification reports to administrator.
- Maintain records of contacts and referrals for use in truancy matters.
- Meet with CST's, Guidance and Administration regarding attendance matters when necessary.
- Submit monthly reports including data analysis of student attendance issues and tasks completed (referrals received and contacts made).
- Schedules attendance meetings to be held with parents and the principal; present attendance data in a clear and concise manner, while also providing information about ways to improve attendance issues.
- Develops positive behavior support for attendance, provides incentives and recognition certificates.
- Promotes attendance at school through communication with parents, bulletin board displays, and visits to classrooms.
- Celebrate students who maintain perfect attendance throughout the year.
- Monitor and maintain attendance records for Bridgeton students attending out- of-district educational placements.
- The attendance officer shall serve legal documents and appear in Court when requested by the principal.
- The attendance officer shall submit reports in writing every month to the Superintendent. This report is due the fifth day of the following month.
- Attends Professional Development related to attendance.
- Perform all other duties, which may be assigned by the Building Principal.
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:
10 Months. Salary to be determined by the
Board of Education.
EVALUATION:
Performance will be evaluated in accordance
with Board policies and procedures on the evaluation of professional staff.
