POSITION:

Attendance Officer

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor's Degree
  2. Oral and written communication skills.
  3. Required Criminal History Check.
  4. A valid state-issued driver's license, and transportation to travel on and off-site.
  5. Provide Proof of US citizenship or legal Resident Alien status

REPORTS TO:

Building Principal

JOB GOALS:

To track attendance and follow up on excessive absenteeism.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Receive referrals from designated sources for attendance, lateness, residency or other matters.
  2. Maintain accurate records regarding referred cases.
  3. Complete home visits, telephone contacts, and attendance conference with Principal.
  4. Provides address verification reports to administrator.
  5. Maintain records of contacts and referrals for use in truancy matters.
  6. Meet with CST's, Guidance and Administration regarding attendance matters when necessary.
  7. Submit monthly reports including data analysis of student attendance issues and tasks completed (referrals received and contacts made).
  8. Schedules attendance meetings to be held with parents and the principal; present attendance data in a clear and concise manner, while also providing information about ways to improve attendance issues.
  9. Develops positive behavior support for attendance, provides incentives and recognition certificates.
  10. Promotes attendance at school through communication with parents, bulletin board displays, and visits to classrooms.
  11. Celebrate students who maintain perfect attendance throughout the year.
  12. Monitor and maintain attendance records for Bridgeton students attending out- of-district educational placements.
  13. The attendance officer shall serve legal documents and appear in Court when requested by the principal.
  14. The attendance officer shall submit reports in writing every month to the Superintendent. This report is due the fifth day of the following month.
  15. Attends Professional Development related to attendance.
  16. Perform all other duties, which may be assigned by the Building Principal.     

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:

10 Months. Salary to be determined by the Board of Education.

EVALUATION:

Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Board policies and procedures on the evaluation of professional staff.
