POSITION:
Bookkeeper – Grants and Funded Programs
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School graduate or equivalent and secretarial exp.
- Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and the operation of standard office machines.
- Knowledge of bookkeeping principles, practices, and the ability to apply these principles to work situations.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the general public.
- Ability to maintain essential records and files.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and to adhere to prescribe procedures.
- Must be computer literate; proficient in Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel).
- Experience on EDUMET preferred.
- Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
REPORTS TO:
Director of Grants and Funded Programs
JOB GOAL:
To assist and support the Office of Grants and Funded Programs in the performance of his/her role and responsibilities by maintaining a thorough and efficient office.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares purchase orders and prepares invoices for payment in accordance with district policy.
- Assists the Purchasing Agent with securing federally funded items needed for RFP and/or Bids
- Assists Assistant School Business Administrator with year-end closing procedures for federally funded programs.
- Assist with yearly audit by obtaining information requested by auditors.
- Maintains complete and accurate files of all federal, state and external grants and accompanying documents (Interim reporting, quarterly reports, final reports, etc.)
- Maintains all federal required documents as determined by each grant.
- Assists with opening and processing office mail.
- Supports the successful functions of the office including but not limited to: answering Office of Grants and Funded Program phone calls, filing and retrieving department documents.
- Types, emails, edit, proofread, and assist with all correspondence related to the Grants and Funded Programs Office.
- Performs such other duties as required or assigned by the Grants and Funded Programs Director
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:
12 Months. Salary to be determined by the Board of Education.
EVALUATION:
Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Board policies and procedures on the evaluation of professional staff.
