POSITION:

Bookkeeper – Grants and Funded Programs

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School graduate or equivalent and secretarial exp. 
  2. Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and the operation of standard office machines. 
  3. Knowledge of bookkeeping principles, practices, and the ability to apply these principles to work situations. 
  4. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the general public. 
  5. Ability to maintain essential records and files. 
  6. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and to adhere to prescribe procedures. 
  7. Must be computer literate; proficient in Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel). 
  8. Experience on EDUMET preferred. 
  9. Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status. 

REPORTS TO:

Director of Grants and Funded Programs

JOB GOAL:

To assist and support the Office of Grants and Funded Programs in the performance of his/her role and responsibilities by maintaining a thorough and efficient office. 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Prepares purchase orders and prepares invoices for payment in accordance with district policy. 
  2. Assists the Purchasing Agent with securing federally funded items needed for RFP and/or Bids 
  3. Assists Assistant School Business Administrator with year-end closing procedures for federally funded programs. 
  4. Assist with yearly audit by obtaining information requested by auditors. 
  5. Maintains complete and accurate files of all federal, state and external grants and accompanying documents (Interim reporting, quarterly reports, final reports, etc.) 
  6. Maintains all federal required documents as determined by each grant. 
  7. Assists with opening and processing office mail. 
  8. Supports the successful functions of the office including but not limited to: answering Office of Grants and Funded Program phone calls, filing and retrieving department documents.  
  9. Types, emails, edit, proofread, and assist with all correspondence related to the Grants and Funded Programs Office. 
  10. Performs such other duties as required or assigned by the Grants and Funded Programs Director 

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:

12 Months.  Salary to be determined by the Board of Education.

EVALUATION:

Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Board policies and procedures on the evaluation of professional staff.
