Job Description
POSITION:
Maintenance/Licensed Plumber
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum High School Diploma.
- Valid N.J. Drivers License
- Valid NJ Plumbing License in good standing
- Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
REPORTS TO:
Supervisor of Building and Grounds
JOB GOAL:
To provide General Maintenance and Plumbing services as assigned by the Supervisor of Building and Grounds.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs Plumbing Maintenance as directed which includes but not limited to domestic water systems, sanitary sewer systems, and irrigation systems.
- Performs Plumbing services on heating and chilled water loop systems.
- Direct replacement of valves of all types and styles.
- Performs school building maintenance functions such as water heater replacements, water fountain installations, and domestic water pipe installations.
- Performs other general maintenance service as directed.
- Assist as assigned with the district HVAC Mechanics in providing plumbing services as related to that specific trade.
- Complete work orders as assigned.
- Is responsible for maintaining all assigned tools and supplies.
- Posses the ability to pull Plumbing permits as needed and complete rough drawings.
- Assist with plumbing work as directed such as drain clearing, pipe installations, valve replacement, and water filter changes.
- Perform snow removal via plow operation, snow blowers, tractors, and hand shoveling as needed.
- Perform Parking Lot salting with salt spreading equipment as directed.
- Adheres to the District Vehicle use policy.
- Performs other duties as required by the Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds or the School Business Administrator.
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:
12 Months. Salary to be determined by the Board of Education.
EVALUATION:
Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Board policies and procedures on the evaluation of professional staff.
